So … I got on the plane with the flu, and I was dreading the possibility of being sick in another country. Miracle of miracles though, when I arrived in Germany 14 hours (and a couple shots of medicine) later, I was feeling pretty darn good.

The Gauja XXL Marathon is one of the most spectacular kayaking races all over the world (exactly the longest European competition of that kind). It requires from the paddler parmanent effort on the distance of 310 km. This event gives the opportunity to admire the longest river of Latvia - Gauja. Starting in Lejasciems (near border with Estonia) participants cross nearly half of Latvia finishing at the Gulf of Riga. Nature is more than friendly in here. Untouched by civilization, full of charming river branches, away from the crowded areas - one can find here everything what is searched by the demanding tourist.

The weekend of April 15th through 17th found us traveling to Charleston, SC for the East Coast Canoe & Kayak Festival and some good old fashion southern hospitality. Several hundred hearty souls endured a windy day on Saturday to demo boats and learn skills from some of kayakings top instructors. By Sunday the heavy weather had passed, the sun came out and the wind was just strong enough to keep the “no see ums” to a minimum. There were a lot of smiles to be seen.

The Paddlesport 2011 show hosted by The Jersey Paddler and Staff was once again a great success. SEA-LECT Designs was proud to play it part. The SEA-LECT Design Spinner did it job by putting smiles on the faces of a multitude of paddlers. From footbraces to pad eyes every one found what they were looking for. From a little maintaince to a complete rebuild we have what it takes to get the job done.

Let’s do the math here...6am minus the two-hour time difference really means 4am...now take into account daylight saving time just "sprung" us forward last night, and now we're really talking 3am. And since we need to be to the airport early to check-in, we woke up at what felt like 1am for our return flight. What was I thinking!

Our feet are tired! But both Ryan and I had a great time today, and even with all the stuff going on downtown in Madison, it sure seemed like it didn't keep all the diehard paddlesport enthusiasts away! Shot a couple little video with the guys form Rapid Media we hope to get in our e-newsletters in the coming months (one talking about our Truecourse™ Rudder Kit, and half way through, two gentleman that were watching bought them). People kept stopping by...attracted by the gleaming light off all the great products on our spinner display.

Jeremy and I just landed from our Alaska Air flight! All in all, not a bad trip...but we're looking forward getting our booth set-up and for the excitement to start on Friday. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by and say "hello" ... we are in booth #M15 (right behind the big Icebreaker booth).
